Alexander Ferrante B Sc (Hons), (IPTA Fellow): the principal patent and trade marks attorney has approximately 12 years of experience in all forms of intellectual property including patents, trademarks and designs. With Honours in molecular biology, immunology and infectious diseases (University of Adelaide, 1997), Alex entered the patent attorney profession in 1998. Alex has also previously worked for the Women’s and Children’s Hospital (Adelaide), and for the commercialisation company Adelaide Research and Innovation (ARI). Alex regularly teaches business owners on intellectual property issues and has a Certificate IV in Small Business Management which allows a greater understanding of how to utilise intellectual property to gain advantages over competitors. On the side, Alex enjoys playing tennis, jogging and networking.

Catherine Hustwick B Sc (Chem), LLB (Hons), MRACI, is a patent and trade marks attorney with approximately 22 years experience in Australia and was an Examiner at the New Zealand Patent Office. Cathy applies extensive patent and trademark experience to ensure client’s interests are managed effectively and professionally. In particular, she has extensive knowledge and experience in oppositions, infringement matters, dispute resolution, chemical patents and pharmaceutical patents.
